Biography
Mica (UK) is a DJ and producer known for deep tech, minimal house, and underground techno— defined by control, groove, and narrative flow. Whether on vinyl or digital, her sets favour subtle momentum and atmosphere over peak-time theatrics. The foundation of Mica’s career was shaped through her residency at Time in Manila, Philippines, a formative period that played a crucial role in defining both her sound and approach to the dancefloor. Immersed in a fast‐evolving underground scene, she developed her identity across extended sets, community‐driven spaces, and radio, building the instincts and discipline that continue to inform her performances today. This residency positioned her as a core figure within the local scene while opening doors to wider international opportunities.
From this base, her journey expanded quickly across Asia and Europe, leading to appearances at international clubs and festivals, including Epizode Festival (Vietnam), and performances alongside respected artists such as Kepler and Burnski, Gescu, Cinthie, John Acquaviva, Darren Emerson, Juliet Fox, Nakadia, Shaun Reeves, and Shiba San. These experiences cemented her reputation as a reliable, musically focused selector within the global minimal and deep‐house circuit.
Back in the UK, 2024 marked a major milestone with her debut at fabric London, firmly placing her within one of the country’s most respected underground institutions. In 2025, she continued to build international credibility with her debut at HOR Berlin, a platform recognised for spotlighting forward‐thinking selectors with a strong artistic identity. Known for her appearances at Eastern Bloc and Ramona in Manchester, reinforcing her connection to carefully curated, underground‐leaning spaces. Her festival history includes Parklife, We Out Here Festival, and Green Island Festival, demonstrating versatility across both large‐scale outdoor environments and intimate, specialist settings.
As a producer, Mica has built a credible, club‐focused catalogue, releasing across minimal, deep house, and tech‐leaning sounds on labels including Vandalism, LucidFlow, Bondage, Bosh, Piston Recordings, Experimental, and more recently Evaporate. Her releases have charted within Beatport’s Minimal / Deep Tech categories, reinforcing her reputation for functional, late‐night material designed for real dancefloors. Her music has received ongoing support from BBC Introducing, with plays on BBC Introducing Dance (Radio 1) via Jaguar, as well as BBC Introducing Manchester, bridging underground credibility with national tastemaker recognition.
