Scott Diaz

Biography

An avid vinyl collector and digger as well as a respected sound designer, engineer and artist, Scott Diaz is a true underground music devotee who’s been steadily honing his craft since the late 90’s, growing into one of the most exciting and original DJ’s and producers active today.

The last couple of years in particular have seen his sound evolve, with his brand of freaky, bumpin’ house and classy garage grooves endearing him to a whole new set of fans who appreciate his distinctive and unique blend of sexy, swingin’ party-starters; there are very few other DJ’s around who can seamlessly serve up fierce US vocal house, 90’s London garage, and New Jersey dubs interwoven with personal unreleased edits, rare vinyl club cuts and sleazy, stripped-back basement jams.

He’s had his music released on some of house music’s leading labels; Defected, Sub-Urban, Dungeon Meat, Simma Black, Peppermint Jam, Nervous Records, Chicago’s Large Music & more - and he’s more in demand as a remixer and producer than ever before with his Dungeon Meat EP selling out twice and hitting the top spot in Juno’s bestseller lists.

After a 2023 full of personal upheaval it would be fair to say that he’s now fully found his groove again, serving up several cuts on wax for the ‘Ikigai EP’, and featuring on SPIL Records’ first VA alongside Jeremy Sylvester and Zed Bias, in addition to another chart-topping vinyl-only release with his longtime collaborator Matt Jam Lamont - suitably titled ‘The Best of Both Worlds’ - a nod to their skill for fusing the best elements of both house and garage. He’s also delivered stellar remixes for Kellie Allen on PIV Records and a dub of Next Phase's ‘My Desire' for legendary NY house label Sub-Urban, which was one of the most played records at 2025’s Southport Weekender.

Other recent and notable highlights include consecutive appearances at Glastonbury’s iconic queer utopia The NYC Downlow, a B2B set with Seb Zito, bookings for BeeYou & Dungeon Meat, and being included on The Cause’s 6th Birthday celebration event. His debut appearance in the Downlow was a truly defining career moment, garnering attention from the likes of Mella Dee, NTS’ Moxie and Block9 curator and co-founder Gideon himself - who publicly praised Scott’s closing set as ‘one of the best in the entire 16-year history of the Downlow’.
